I can’t believe another week has come and gone already! It blows my mind how fast it goes. And now all of the sudden it’s April! Say what?!
Well friends, I worked my butt of this week! I made sure that I stuck to eating the things I knew my body needed and wanted. I worked out 5 of the 7 days and I made sure that my workouts were ones that pushed me and made me sweat. Because we all know… “no pain, no gain.” Right?! Right!
I decided to add another level of accountability in there this week as well. My brother and I both have Garmin vívofit bands. They are great! If you’ve considered getting some kind of fit band you should definitely check them out! You can find them here on Amazon and I’ve seen them in places like Costco and Sam’s club as well! I have one that you can switch the band color so I ordered this pack of Colorful Fitness Replacement bands so I can change it whenever I feel like it! So fun! So we decided to do a challenge to see who could take the most steps and lose more weight before our younger brother’s wedding in June. We set up the challenge in our app that syncs to our bands and it keeps track of who’s ahead. It has actually been really fun and helps me stay motivated to get in extra steps every day!
Now that it’s getting warmer out and we’ve had a few nicer days over the last week, I’ve made an extra effort to get outside and go on walks with my girls. I’ve tried to make it a habit to put the girls in the stroller either before their nap or right after. They love it because they get to be outside and I’m loving it more and more because I just feel so good afterwards. Now, even on the cooler days, I bundle the girls up and we still get out for a walk. I think it helps all three of us to get out of the house and breathe some fresh air! It definitely boosts my mood!
Over all, I feel like I’m learning more and more to tune in to my body and listen to what it needs and wants. I’ve realized also that the more I exercise, the more my body wants to exercise. I always feel so much better on the days that I do get a workout in and a walk. And same goes for eating well also! Justin and I went on a date Friday night (the first one we’ve been on in a loooooong time) and we went to an italian restaurant. Obviously there wasn’t going to be too many healthy options on that menu. But that’s ok. We enjoyed our meal and went on to the movies. But by the time our date was ending, I felt the weight of that food and it was not pleasant. So that experience made it easier for me to make better choices throughout the weekend. I passed up french toast on Sunday morning!
My hard work this week definitely paid off! I lost 3.8 pounds! I feel so proud and so grateful! It feels great to be making some progress. I’m excited about it and have gained even more motivation from that! I’m looking forward to being able to tune in to my body more and more. I feel stronger on the inside. I’m excited for the changes that lay ahead!
My goal this week is to keep up the walks and to increase my water intake. For some reason I have been struggling with getting enough water throughout the day.
Thanks for hanging out and for your support and motivation! It definitely helps to check in with you all every week!
