I decided to start this thing where I have a theme for each day of the week. My hope is that it will help us switch things up each day and not get stuck in a rut with our entertainment and doing the same things over and over again. I think it will help us stretch our minds a little as well. I haven’t figured out what each day’s theme will be yet but I do know that Mondays will be all about music.
My girls already love music and Justin teaches them little sounds to make to the beat when songs come on. And their little dance moves are to die for! Naomi has recently discovered turning in circles to dance and Noelle bobs her head to the side. It’s the cutest thing ever.
This is Naomi dancing at our church talent show last month! Here’s the link in case the video above doesn’t show up!
So the plan is to leave the TV off and turn up the music! All kinds of music. But good, uplifting, and happy music. Music that helps us want to get up and move, music that inspires us, music that helps us to feel the spirit in our home. I’m pretty excited about it!
Today was the first day giving that a shot and it went pretty well! We’re using our Amazon Music account to make different playlists to listen to depending on what we are in the mood for or what we need. I love that with Amazon Music Unlimited I can find specific songs I want to hear and add them to my own list. Justin has different lists that he listens to at work or in the car, etc. I just started a list of work out jams and I’m loving it! I used it this morning while I did my workout and it was a lot of fun to have songs that I know will keep me pumped and motivated! I’m going to work on putting together a list of fun children’s songs that the girls can learn too!
If you haven’t tried Amazon Music Unlimited you should definitely give it a shot! You can sign up for a free 30 day trial from the links in this post
if you want to check it out! You don’t have to have a prime membership either! Anyone can use it! Although, I love our Amazon Prime as well! And if you have an Echo
from Amazon, you should definitely sign up for Amazon Music! That is a match made in heaven! You have so much control over what songs you want on your playlists but you can also just listen to different channels if you don’t want to go through the effort of making your own playlists.
Anyways, if you can’t tell, I’m pretty excited about it! Now I just need to figure out the rest of the days of the week! I’m thinking Wednesday could be “Wise Wednesdays” where we listen to audiobooks, talks, podcasts, etc.
What do you think? Any ideas on different themes I can assign to other days? Or do you have any good songs that you love that I need to add to my playlists?
Maybe next week I’ll share some of the songs on one of my playlists with you! Stay tuned!

How about tumbling Tuesday!!
You could get your yoga mat and work on roll overs, and make up a obsatacal course where they can climb under and over, jump etc.
I love that idea! And the girls would love it too! I’ll have to see what I can come up with! Thanks for the suggestion!
