I mentioned in a previous post that my girls had been sick since the beginning of the year. Because they were sick we stayed cooped up in our apartment for what seemed like forever! I was starting to get major cabin fever and I think the girls were going a little stir crazy as well. They were definitely feeling better so we ventured out to get some fresh air and have some fun!
I decided to take the girls to the library here in hopes that they would have some kind of fun little activity area to entertain the girls for at least a few minutes. We live in a small and old town so I wasn’t expecting much from our little library branch. I was thinking maybe a little table with puzzles or a train or something…
Boy was I surprised!
People! This was THE COOLEST children’s area I have ever seen in a library before!
There were so many places for the girls to climb. Which made this mama a little nervous, but they did so good!
As you can see, they pretty much went in opposite directions the entire time! Luckily we were the only ones there most of the time!
Noelle had a rough time figuring out how to get in and out of this little nook. Hahaha. She didn’t like that she had to get down and crawl. Naomi on the other hand was all about it.
The chalkboard was probably one of their favorite things! It was also the only time they played in the same area at the same time!
They lasted there for a while until Naomi started sniffing and trying to eat the chalk. (face palm) She would put it up to her nose and sniff and then go “mmmm.” I just know that she’s going to be the kid that eats the glue at school. LOL.
We had a pretty great time and the girls were not happy to leave after having been there for an hour. There’s so much more there than what I actually got pictures of. This small town library did not disappoint! We’ll definitely be back!
What are some of your favorite places to take the kiddos when it’s cold outside? We always need more ideas!
Have a fabulous week!
